The CEOs of Fortitude and Horizon believe Portugal offers many investment opportunities, but warn that conditions need to be created for private capital to invest in areas such as housing.
There are still many opportunities for private equity funds to invest in Portugal, and capital simply needs a sound regulatory, tax and legal framework. That was the conclusion of the discussion on “Funds, Growth and Strategy: A Conversation on the Next Decade of Capital in Portugal” at the Money Conference, organised on Thursday, 8 October, by Diário de Notícias and Dinheiro Vivo.
“Portugal is a small country”, “too small for the big funds”, but it is nonetheless a “very big playground”, says António Esteves, CEO of Fortitude Capital.
